The Mercy Foundation of Lorain County is the philanthropic arm of Mercy health system. Our goal is to support the mission and objectives of all of Mercy’s programs by joining the charitable objectives of donors with the programmatic needs of the system. The Foundation provides over $1.5 million annually in operating and programmatic assistance each year, supporting a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as all Mercy community outreach initiatives.
Through its efforts, the Foundation helps extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of our community with emphasis on people who are poor and underserved.
Annual Report to the Community
The Mercy Foundation of Lorain County believes our donors deserve transparency in all of our fundraising and fund distribution endeavors. This belief is shared with the entire Mercy health system, which is why we collaborate to release an annual report to the community.
The annual report provides not only a brief glimpse into Mercy’s activities, but is a statement of the organization’s profound commitment to delivering quality healthcare with economic efficiency throughout our community.
In 2012, Mercy provided $28.9 million in community outreach programs, free care for the poor and underserved, health clinics, financial and medication assistance, and non-reimbursed Medicaid costs of care.
